Flathead Moccasins, late 19th century / Ex Philbrook Art Center / Published
Moccasins, perhaps more than any other object-type produced on the Great Plains, best demonstrate stylistic diversity. So compelling is this pair that they were exhibited at the Philbrook Art Center. These soft-soled moccasins show a complexity of design that was a hallmark of Reservation Period (1880-1920) beadwork on the Northern Plains.
